Allies in Action: VISA Canada

Here at Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, we are so thankful to have allies across the country who are committed to standing up for our most vulnerable children and youth in creative ways. We are always excited to see individuals, groups, and corporate teams combining their great ideas and resources to make a difference in their communities.

For over 12 years, groups of employees at VISA Canada have been hosting various forms of holiday fundraisers to raise critical funds for kids who have lived experienced in the child welfare system.

In 2019, their “Fill the Sleigh” gift card drive saw over 30 employees participate, with over $2,100 raised in employee donations that were then matched by VISA Canada. this initiative was able to bring smiles to the faces of kids during the holidays, which is an especially difficult, confusing, lonely, and often stressful time of year time for many kids living in care and accessing child welfare services.

VISA Canada has been a proud supporter of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada for many years. Each year, our employees help fulfill the year-round wish lists of children and youth in care through fundraising activities, monetary donations (which VISA matches through the VISA Matching Program), and an annual toy drive. We’re honoured to be able to support the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada in its efforts to provide children and youth in need the opportunity to reach their full potential.
