Bridging the Gap from Child Welfare to Sustainable Careers
Every year, thousands of young Canadians transition out of the child welfare system into independence, often without the safety nets, networks, or financial backing that most youth rely on.
Led by Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada (CAFC), the Tech Committee brings together Canadian technology leaders, executives, and innovators to build practical, scalable solutions. Together, we are creating coordinated pathways that help young people build fulfilling, sustainable futures in tech and beyond.
How we support youth:
- Education and scholarships: Financial assistance to access post-secondary education and specialized training.
- Career readiness: Workshops, hands-on training, and pro bono learning opportunities.
- Mentorship and networks: Direct connections to industry professionals, career guidance, and peer support.
- Meaningful work experience: Paid internships and entry-level opportunities within leading technology companies.
[A scholarship] means being able to focus on school and do the best I can without being worried as much by the financial burden of education. Not only does my likelihood of success increase, but I feel a sense of pride and self-confidence knowing that someone believed enough in me to invest in my degree. – Emily, Scholarship Recipient
Moving From Intention to Impact, Together
Our collective goal is to raise $1,000,000 to expand education and employment pathways for youth in and from care.
