Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada Appoints Tabish Surani as Chief Impact Officer

Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada (CAFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tabish Surani as Chief Impact Officer, effective May 15, 2026.

As Chief Impact Officer, Tabish will join CAFC’s Executive Leadership Team and lead the Foundation’s impact strategies and delivery. In this role, she will oversee the organization’s approach to impact measurement and evaluation, strengthen alignment across teams and initiatives, and help advance measurable outcomes for children and youth involved in the child welfare system.

Tabish brings more than 20 years of experience advancing education, employment, and well-being for young people facing systemic barriers. A recognized social impact leader specializing in strategy-to-execution, outcomes-based investment, and equitable program design, she has launched and scaled multi-million-dollar initiatives, built innovative cross-sector partnerships, and strengthened accountability and impact measurement practices to support meaningful change at scale.

Since joining CAFC as Director, Innovation, Evaluation, and Partnerships, Tabish has played an instrumental role in shaping the Foundation’s Impact Framework and strengthening its focus on measurable outcomes and continuous learning.

“Tabish’s appointment comes at an important moment for the Foundation as we continue to implement our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan and deepen our focus on measurable impact and systems-level change,” said Jeff Schiffer, President and CEO of Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada. “She brings an exceptional ability to connect strategy to execution, build meaningful partnerships, and help CAFC translate investments into real outcomes for young people.”

Tabish believes innovation at CAFC is centred around possibility: looking at how we can positively shift outcomes, identify and invest in promising solutions, and evaluate and scale approaches that can change the trajectory of young people’s lives in lasting and meaningful ways.

I’m honoured to step into the role of Chief Impact Officer at CAFC at such an important time for the Foundation and the sector. I look forward to continuing to work alongside our partners, donors, communities, and young people to strengthen collaboration, deepen learning, and help build more equitable futures for children and youth in and from care.

This appointment reflects CAFC’s continued commitment to strengthening impact, deepening collaboration, and driving long-term change for children and youth in and from care.
