How a student group raised over $2,000 for children and youth from care

Jukebox bingo

On March 20, Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada attended Jukebox Bingo, a night of music, fun, and philanthropy at the iconic Horseshoe Tavern. The fundraiser, which was hosted by a student group from George Brown College’s Sport and Event Marketing program, was a unique blend of classic bingo and pop tunes in support to support a meaningful cause – children, youth and families involved in child welfare.

How it Worked

Jukebox Bingo puts a twist on the classic game by swapping numbers for song titles or artists on bingo cards. As our host from Black Sheep Entertainment played tunes, players marked off their cards. Completing a line, column, or pattern meant winning one of the amazing prizes donated by the events sponsors including a prize pack from the Foundation, alongside gifts from Lululemon, Starbucks, Indigo and more.

A Successful Night

The Jukebox Bingo event was a resounding success thanks to the student team at George Brown College, and the enthusiastic participants. Over $2,000 was raised through admission and raffle ticket sales, with all proceeds going to Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada. These dollars will go directly towards initiatives supporting children and youth impacted by the child welfare system, providing vital resources and opportunities for young people in need.
