group of runners

Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada is proud to have once again participated as an official charity partner in this year’s Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon’s Charity Challenge!

This year, we had a record 133 participants running and walking in support of Stand Up for Kids, including individual runners, teams from our corporate partners Citi, Dickinson Wright LLP, Hudson’s Bay Foundation, and teams from our agency partners Boost, Native Child and Family Services, Stop and Imagine, Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, and Corsage Project. Together, they raised over $41,000to help improve the lives of children and youth growing up in the child welfare system!
Check out a few highlights from the run:

Our 2019 run ambassador, Troy, trained hard and completed his first half-marathon!

“Thank you Children’s Aid Foundation for hosting me this year as your 2019 Run Ambassador on the Stand Up for Kids team! My effort in training was certainly worth the distance and experience. It was so great to taste the moment with likeminded entrepreneurs, athletes, students, and professionals who championed their respective teams to fundraise and perform on the day! On behalf of the Stand Up for Kids team, great success. I will continue to triumph and Stand Up for Kids in more ways than one. Thank you for your support, cheers.” – Troy, 2019 Foundation Run Ambassador

Along this year’s route, runners found a Stand Up for Kids-branded water station (complete with excited volunteers cheering them on!) to help them refuel for the final kilometers of the race.

Thank you to everyone who walked, ran, fundraised, volunteered, and took a stand for Canada’s most vulnerable children and youth at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon this year. We are already looking forward to next year’s run. See you there!
