Giving Back in the Workplace

There are lots of ways to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable Canadian children and youth, and you can get your whole workplace involved! Each year, we see an increasing number of workplaces hosting events and fundraisers in order to Stand Up for Kids and make a difference alongside their coworkers. Participating in Workplace Giving is a great way to connect with your coworkers and support a cause that is important to you!

Check out a few of the great Workplace Giving initiatives we saw in 2019-2020:

  • Last year, employees at CI Financial came together and raised $28,000, enough funding to provide 5 scholarships for youth who are pursuing their post-secondary education.
  • For a number of years, Arup has been hosting a staff live auction to raise funds for Foundation tutoring programs, scholarships, and for Stand Up for Kids. Employees collect gifts in-kind and then bid on the items in the auction, and Arup matches all donations.

Employees can also get involved by volunteering:

  • Last year, employees from AMJ Campbell, Black Rock, BMO, CIBC, Citibank, Finastra, HBC Foundation, HSBC Bank Canada, Manulife, RBC, and Rogers volunteered to help fill backpacks with school supplies and personal items as part of the Ted and Loretta Rogers Comfort Kit Program.
  • At our 2019 Holiday Season Celebration, we had an incredible team of employees from AMJ Campbell, Air Canada Foundation, Black Rock, BMW Financial Services, CIBC, Citibank, Finastra, Genesys, Gifraffe Foods, Greenwin, Gryphon Investment Counsel, HBC Foundation, HSBC Bank Canada, Intact Foundation, ivari, Loblaw, Lyft, Manulife, Medalist Capital, Medavie Health Foundation, Pfaff, RBC, The Rossy Foundation, Scotiabank, Shorcan, Staples, State Street, and TELUS join us as volunteers for an afternoon of holiday fun.
