Each year, Stand Up for Kids Night, presented by CIBC, provides an opportunity for allies, donors, partners, and young people to come together to celebrate the educational triumphs of the youth we serve, recognize the hard work of Canadians dedicated to supporting young people involved in child welfare, and acknowledge the Foundation’s growing reach and impact across the country.
For the seventh year, City Line’s Tracy Moore joined in on the celebration as an incredible ally by hosting the event. As Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada funds and delivers programs and services in partnership with 74 child- and youth-serving partners across the country, including our Post-Secondary Education program, we certainly have a lot to celebrate at this event. This year, we were thrilled to recognize a record 258 scholarship recipients and 86 past scholarship recipients who have graduated from post-secondary education and are embarking on the next steps in their educational or career journey (pictured above). Our guests had the privilege of hearing from three of our youth ambassadors, Sarah, Mercy, and James, who have all received educational supports through the Foundation.
This event also marked the second year for the Lynn Factor Stand Up for Kids National Award to be presented to one Award winner among our six finalists, pictured below with Don Guloien (far right), Chair of the Lynn Factor Stand Up for Kids National Award Committee and Lynn Factor(second from left), whom the award is named for. These six individuals were awarded a combined total of $75,000 in grants to be directed towards a child- and/or youth-serving organization of their choice. We are extremely inspired by the work that all finalists do to ignite change in their communities in support of kids involved in child welfare.
