The Holiday Season Celebration brings joy to children, youth and families who are at risk.

All children deserve to experience the joy, belonging, and celebration that the holiday season brings. Unfortunately, for many kids living in care and accessing child welfare services, the holidays can be a confusing, lonely, and often stressful time of year.

Some children must navigate unsafe or difficult family dynamics, poverty, or living with strangers, while some older teens even live on their own—all the while wishing for a “normal” holiday like their friends. The Foundation supports children, youth and families at risk during the holiday season with a variety of programs and supports, including the annual Holiday Season Celebration, which provides an opportunity for children and youth in care to have a special, safe, and fun-filled day for them to feel celebrated.

The Holiday Season Celebration is Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada’s longest standing enrichment initiative, and for over 40 years has provided kids and families in Toronto with an afternoon of fun, good food, making connections with other kids and families in their community, and getting into the holiday spirit.
