Launched by CIBC in partnership with Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada through a leadership gift in 1999, the CIBC Miracle Fund is a national program that creates childhood memories for young people in care.
Currently operating in partnership with 13 child welfare agencies throughout Canada, the CIBC Miracle Fund provides grants of up to $400 per child to young people in care between the ages of 0 and 13. It covers items and fees that allow kids to participate in sports and recreational activities, arts and culture, and education-related experiences – life-enriching opportunities that have the power to change their lives.
Chloe’s Story
Chloe entered foster care at the age of three. Four years later, she was adopted, but removed from that home due to abuse. Due to her traumatic past experiences, she’s had difficulty trusting others. CIBC Miracle funds have provided her with the opportunity to attend horseback riding camp where she has connected with animals, and by doing so, been able to move towards healing and recovery. Although Chloe still faces challenges, she has made a deep and impactful connection with her volunteer, and is learning to trust and care for animals.
My ability to endure is a reflection of my inner strength. Thanks to the Foundation and the donors who have provided me with the stability I needed.
