For 40 years, the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada Gala – Teddy Bear Affair has brought together a community committed to being there for children and youth from care. As one of Toronto’s longest-running black-tie events, it reflects a powerful legacy of generosity, leadership, and collective action.
As we mark this milestone year, we invite you to join us for an inspiring evening in support of children, youth, and families involved in the child welfare sector across the country.
Since 1986, the Teddy Bear Affair has raised more than $40 million to help young people build stable, independent lives. Yet many still face instability, trauma, disrupted education, and the loss of support at a critical age, making this work more urgent than ever. Our efforts focus not only on addressing immediate needs, but also on shaping the conditions that lead to stable, fulfilling lives.
Progress requires new thinking, leadership, and a commitment to ensuring no young person is left behind. That future is shaped by the opportunities young people are given today. When youth from care are supported to thrive, the ripple effects are lasting, strengthening families, communities, and the country we all share.
