I acknowledge that the land on which I live and work, Tkaronto, known today as Toronto, is situated on the traditional and sacred territories of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. This land remains home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. I am grateful to live, work, and learn on this land. As the child of immigrants, I recognize the privilege of being able to make a home here and the enduring connection Indigenous peoples have to this territory. In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, I am committed to ongoing learning, reflection, and meaningful action that promote fairness, respect, and partnership with Indigenous communities.
