Swing Era Celebrated at the 2009 Teddy Bear Affair

Canadian crooner Matt Dusk brings Big Band music back to Toronto's social
scene in support of the Children's Aid Foundation

TORONTO, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - Guests of the 23rd Annual Teddy Bear Affair hosted by the Children's Aid Foundation (www.cafdn.org) will be transported to an era when swing was in and the cool cat sounds of Benny Goodman and Bing Crosby brought ballrooms and nightclubs to life.

Known as one of the most anticipated social events of the season, more than 800 guests will fill the ballroom at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Saturday, November 14th. In its 22-year history, the Teddy Bear Affair has raised over $17 million with 100 per cent of the proceeds directly funding programs that support abused and neglected children and youth across the country.

"We are thrilled at the support and commitment our donors and guests continue to provide each and every year," said Ann Barnard Ball, Executive Director of the Children's Aid Foundation. "Their generosity has made a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children and youth in Canada. This year's Big Band theme reminiscent of the 1940's when swing music reigned supreme, promises an elegant evening of unforgettable entertainment, outstanding food and spectacular auction items and prizes."

Hosted by CityTV Breakfast Television personalities Dina Pugliese and Kevin Frankish, the evening will feature a performance by Canadian crooner Matt Dusk, a live and silent auction, and a raffle for Tiffany & Co. jewellery valued over $24,000.
