This year, in celebration of our 25th milestone, the Teddy Bear Affair is bringing the theme back toour "home and native" land. With Glowing Hearts is a tribute to honour the people, the landscape, andthe places that make Canada so special.


History of the Teddy Bear Affair

25 Years of Making a Difference -- The History of the Teddy Bear Affair
Twenty-five years ago, a small group of caring Torontonians embarked on a journey to change the livesof vulnerable children facing great adversity. Their goal was to offer these children security and hope.The teddy bear became symbolic of this effort; the first item given to a child when they come into care isa teddy bear. And so the first Teddy Bear Affair gala hosted by the Children’s Aid Foundation came tofruition a quarter-century ago.


Today, the Teddy Bear Affair continues its legacy of raising significant funds for the Children’s AidFoundation’s prevention, enrichment and education programs. Each of these initiatives offers hope andopportunity for children facing hardship.


We are deeply grateful for the loyal support of our sponsors and guests. Since its inception, the TeddyBear Affair has raised almost $19 million.
